This quaint little German bakery in downtown Cary is the perfect quick stop for a little sweet treat! We walked in as a group of 13 and were rapidly served by the 3 staff behind the deserts counter. The shop was very light and airy with tall windows at the front, the vibe of the bakery was only made better by the sweet attitudes of the workers there! When I asked about the cakes they had on display, the worker gave me a small history lesson as she was serving me and the other customers! However, I do feel as though the shop felt slightly empty due to the unfortunate lack of tables in the main floor area.
I ordered a double chocolate chip cookie and a Baiser rose. The chocolate chip cookie was the perfect sweetness and crispness on the outside, though I’m confused as to why the product was named double chocolate as the dessert contained a normal amount of chocolate in my opinion. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the cookie was warm, as though it was freshly baked! The Baiser rose was a meringue cookie with a flavoring that I couldn’t quite decipher, and it was also covered in chocolate. The first few bites were delicious and intriguing, but eventually the sweetness became too much for me, and that's saying something because I adore sweet treats! The texture of the meringue had the perfect crisp and melt in the mouth texture, though the taste was slightly overpowering.
Overall, I definitely recommend this little shop as the waitstaff were straight out of a dream, and the majority of the treats were perfectly balanced and worth it for their price. I would visit again, and I’d bring a friend!
This little restaurant in the downtown Cary area is a great spot for some authentic Mexican cuisine! While the outside of the store may not look like much, the inside is full of life with the colorful decorations and warm smells from the kitchen. It is a walkup restaurant so you order at the counter, the staff behind the counter was very polite and patient as they took orders from 14 people! The music played in the restaurant is also very lively and good for the theme.
I ordered my usual plain jane meal, a cheese quesadilla with rice and beans. The rice and beans were absolutely delicious and the perfect temperature, not too hot or cool. The quesadilla was also delightful, the outside was the perfect slightly toasted and crispy tortilla and the inside contained the perfect amount of cheese. The cheese was the perfect consistency and made for one amazing cheese pull! I didn’t manage to eat the whole thing, but I think it is the perfect amount of food for a grown adult.
Overall, definitely give this little restaurant a try, with its authentic cuisine and delightful workers, it's worth a pit stop!
This little sports bar in Downtown Cary also serves perfect pizza! Our group of 13 was quickly sat and rapidly served our appetizers and pies. We ordered the garlic knots and 2 plates was just enough for all of us! They were absolutely delicious, the perfect texture and extra garlic sauce to dip in. We also ordered 3 pies, a white pie, a regular cheese, and a chaos pie. The white pie was basically cheese pizza but without tomato sauce. It was pretty good, everyone else really enjoyed it though I missed the tomato sauce. The cheese was basically just standard pizza, though it was really delicious and filling for just one slice. My favorite was the chaos pie which had many kinds of meat on it. The meats were perfectly cooked and had great flavor.
To sum up, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit for its kind staff and delicious food!
From the inside and out this little gelato shop screams color and sweetness, and so do the workers! The two gelato makers and scoopers behind the counter were not only kind enough to open up early, but they also took their time to talk to us and give us a mini lesson on the differences between gelato and ice cream!
As for the gelato itself, it was the perfect amount of creamy and the flavors were absolutely delicious! I got the chocolate and the chocolate chip (can you tell I like chocolate?), one scoop of each, and they were enough for a perfect small desert.
Overall, this is a perfect little shop for a quick stop and a sweet treat!
While I don' t normally like Indian food, this delicious restaurant may have opened my mind!
We walked right as the store opened and were warmly greeted by the staff there. We quickly ordered and were rapidly served one of the many items on the menu.
I got the hummus wrap which had lettuce, cucumber, tomato, and hummus! It was delicious, all of the veggies had their perfect crunch even though they were wrapped inside of naan. The sauce on the wrap was really tasty and brought out the flavors in the wrap. I also got mango lassie which is kind of like a thin yogurt smoothie. It was absolutely delicious and creamy, I drank the whole thing! Overall, I would definitely recommend this to others, especially picky eaters like me.
Today our group walked into chocolate smiles and was greeted by two very friendly staff members. We were immediately briefed on the history of the shop and of chocolate. Though I very much enjoyed this chat, I couldn't' t help but be distracted by the overwhelming scent of stale floral perfume. It was so overpowering to the point of feeling almost as though I was being chloroformed. If you have an issue with strong smells like I do, I'd say this shop is not for you. In addition to the smell overpowering my nose, it also leeched into the chocolate I was eating which made it virtually impossible to eat, so I am giving it to my dad.
So overall, though many people in our group enjoyed it, I personally wouldn't visit the shop or order from it again.
