I ordered the Key Lime Pie macron. It was not guaranteed gluten free but I faced no ill effects. It was very moist and slightly crumbly. The citrus flavor was subtle and not too sweet, which was nice. Though most of the flavor came from the filling. The almond cookies acted more as a texture giver and carrier for the filling than anything else. But still a delicate balance executed perfectly.
If you're looking for an old fashioned treat that is still delicious, this is the place for you! This morning me and a group of 13 people went to Annelore’s German Bakery. The white building was old fashioned but inviting and wafting from the building was a wonderful aroma of fresh baked goods. The staff was polite but introverted though they expertly helped our large group not taking too long which was nice. The building had some nice decor but still felt industrial.
I ordered the S'more macron. Again they were not guaranteed gluten free but I faced no ill effects. The S'more flavor was mostly delivered by a marshmallow frosting and a small circle of chocolate ganache. . The almond cookies acted more as a texture giver and carrier for the filling than anything else. But still a delicate balance executed perfectly
If you're looking for an easy outing that can easily accommodate someone gluten free this is the place for you. This morning me and my grandmother went to Fratelli’s Deli. When we pulled up I noticed the tall brick building. So when we walked inside I was expecting an industrial setting but instead I was greeted with a classic deli with an almost homey vibe. When we picked up our order the staff was very helpful and kind.
The Egg and Cheese Sandwich I ordered was excellent if a bit heavy on the cheese. Though with the GF bun it was actually a well balanced sandwich. The Tater Tots I ordered were perfectly seasoned. Had a wonderful crunchy exterior with a soft almost mushy (in a good way) interior. All in all a wonderful meal and all gluten free too!
This Deli is perfect for quick (but still mouth-watering) meals with friends or family especially if they or you have gluten allergies.
If you're looking for a place to have coffee with a friend or somewhere quiet to work this is the place for you. This morning me and my Grandmother went to Mission Market. When we pulled up I noticed the almost modern feel to it. As I walked inside I noticed a vibrant wall and some plants that fit very well with the vibe of a smoothie shop. The staff were very nice and helpful.
I ordered the Ocean Breeze smoothie bowl. I did have to replace the granola with strawberries but it was still very good. The bowl included almond milk, blue spirulina, banana, pineapple, mango, topped with strawberry, banana, pineapple, and coconut. All of them together make a delicious combination. While they do not guarantee Celiac safety I did not have any ill effects.
If you’re looking for a fun place to enjoy some gelato with friends this is the place for you. At lunch time me and a group of 13 people went to Geluma Gelato. The staff was nice but they could not guarantee Celiac safety though they did get a new scoop from a new tub. They had some really fun decorations including crochet ice cream cones. That added to the fun atmosphere
I ordered a scoop of the Corn and Blueberry swirl which was surprisingly good. The corn flavor was stubble but very pleasant. The blueberry flavor was nice but they could have added more. I did not suffer any ill effects after I ate there. The gelato itself was only slightly different from regular ice cream. It had less fat so flavors were a bit clearer but I thought that it was very similar to regular ice cream.
If you’re looking for somewhere to have a casual night out or a healthy on the go meal this is the place for you. I got a pickup from FarmSide Kitchen. The staff was very nice and helpful. They answered all of our questions. The building itself had warm colors and nice lighting. It had a very clean feel to it. It was guaranteed Celiac safe and I had no ill effects from it.
I got the Rancher bowl it was made of grilled chicken, black beans, fire roasted corn, avocado, feta cheese, red onion, corn tortilla chips, shredded kale, warm seasoned brown rice, cilantro lime or spicy jalapeno dressing, honey sriracha drizzle. The bowl itself was very good; the textures and flavors worked perfectly together. It was also very filling and felt healthy while still having amazing flavors.
If you're looking for a quick sweet treat or a great gift this is the place for you. This morning me and a group of thirteen people went to Chocolate Smiles. The staff was nice and eager to answer our questions and they knew a lot about chocolate. It was definitely more risky Celiac wise. I am fine but I am not sure if I would recommend it to anyone with Celiac or gluten intolerance though chocolate was delicious.
I ordered a Caramel Truffle, a Lemon Cream, and a taste tester with one disk of dark chocolate, one disk of milk chocolate, and one white chocolate disk. The Caramel Truffle was smooth and creamy with sea salt on top that balanced the sweetness. The Lemon Cream had lemon curd covered with dark chocolate. Together they made a wonderful flavor combination not too sour or bitter but also not too sweet. Last but not least there is the taste tester. The dark chocolate had a nice snap and was not too bitter. The milk chocolate was creamy and sweet, actually a bit too sweet for me. As a side note I have no love for white chocolate so this is my personal opinion: the white chocolate felt like frozen butter with a pound of sugar.
