Nestled in the heart of downtown Cary is a gem of a bakery named Annalore’s. Annalore’s is a beautiful hidden gem in Cary that is not that popular but very good. Around 11 o’clock, I went into the bakery with a large group and the polite servers took all our orders in no time and with no troubles. The servers working the counter were also open to sharing the backgrounds of all the food they offered. As for the food, I ordered a double chocolate chip cookie amidst all the beautiful options they offered us, and it was melt in your mouth good and even to the point where it was gooey but didn't fall apart in your hands. The atmosphere was amazing inside even though on the outside it is plain but inside it comes to life with rustic furniture and decor and as soon as you step in the door an aroma of fresh baked german goods hits you making this a real special find.
Located a short walk from downtown Cary is a hole in the wall, authentic, Mexican spot named El Amigo. While it does not look pretty on the outside, it sure is on the inside offering its own Mexican authentic flare with paintings and mariachi music playing subtly in the background. I arrived at El Amigo at 10:45 (the perfect time for a working lunch) and me and my large group were funneled into a line and we zipped through the ordering process with no hassle. We then were able to pick our own table from their variety of indoor and outdoor seating which is covered and uncovered. My delicious Chicken Burrito arrived shortly after we sat down and it was cooked to perfection and out in no time. I would highly recommend the Chicken, Cheese, and Rice Burrito for a low 11.99 and with that you get authentic Mexican rice and surprisingly scrumptious chicken and cheese. For a short date of family dinner I would highly recommend El Amigo.

If you're looking for a hint of Brooklyn in Cary, look no further than Di Fara pizza in the heart of downtown Cary. Their New York roots is represented everywhere inside from the fresh pizzas and water that runs through a filter to make it taste like authentic New York City water. Even as soon as you step in you can smell the fresh baked pizza in the kitchen and feel the NYC vibe. The waiters were very kind to our large group and served us fast. We ordered three pizzas; the Cheese pizza, the White pizza, and their specialty, the Chaos and surprisingly they were all very good and if you are looking for some variety and flare, I would recommend the Chaos Pizza with an assortment of toppings. If you want a taste of home or a future travel destination, stop in at Di Fara Pizza.
Sick of Ice cream and want something better? Try Geluna Gelato in Downtown Cary! Geluna Gelato is a stupendous hole-in-the-wall Gelato shop that serves one of the best gelato hands down. I would totally recommend the Milk Chocolate Chip gelato due to its creaminess and its real chocolate flakes. The staff was outstanding, by opening early just for our group of 13 and having all hands on deck while serving us, as well as providing background on their processes in running the shop. They informed us that gelato is different from ice cream because you have to have a certain amount of fat in the dish to be classified as ice cream and that most ice cream places buy a base and add the flavors, but Geluna Gelato buys North Carolina Milk and creates their own healthier base. I would highly recommend Geluna Gelato as a quick, cheap snack after its neighbor Di Fara Pizza.
